Cleaning your Jewelry
Your skin’s pH may react with metal jewelry, sometimes leaving a harmless tint. This can be caused by humidity, lotions, oils, or perfumes. To remove it, gently wipe the area with rubbing alcohol or makeup remover.
If you have a known allergy to brass, please be aware when purchasing our Gold-Filled jewelry & Gold or Silver Plated jewelry. While Gold-Filled has an outer layer of 5-10% 14k gold over brass, it still contains brass as a base metal & skin that is highly sensitive to brass may be affected. For these customers, we recommend sterling silver, gold vermeil, or solid gold jewelry. All of our pieces are hypoallergenic.
Gold jewelry may slightly vary in color. This is because it’s a mixture of gold and other metals (called gold alloy). 24k Solid Sold is quite soft, it is easily dented or scratched, making it less durable for everyday use. 14k gold is 14/24 or about 58% gold & ~ 42% other metals - this is the most common gold selection due to its durability. The particular mixture of metals gives gold alloy its own hue & tone which can vary slightly by item.
Sterling silver can be cleaned with a silver jewelry cleaner and a soft cloth.
Please avoid submerging CZ stones in water to prevent flooding the CZ. If you expose your CZ jewelry to soap, lotions, oils, or perfume, it may flood - which will cause it to lose its sparkle over time. To clean CZ jewelry, use a soft brush with mild soap and warm water, then rinse and dry. Try to clean every 30 days to maintain sparkle!
Gold & Silver Plated Jewelry
Gold & Silver Plated jewelry is made from a thin layer of gold or silver laid over brass. We choose materials with the thickest & highest quality of plating wherever we can. Regardless, these pieces need to be cared for so they can last. Do not wear your Gold or Silver Plated jewelry in water. We also recommend avoiding any contact with lotions, perfumes, oils, & sweat. These chemicals will compromise the integrity of the jewelry & dull your pieces more quickly over time.
We recommend your jewelry be the last thing you put on when heading out. After removing your jewelry, run a clean dry cloth over each piece to remove the day. Do not use polish or soap on these pieces, as these chemicals can easily strip the plating. If you have a known allergy to brass, please be aware when purchasing Gold or Silver Plated jewelry.
